The Pros and Cons of Touch Screen Laptops

Is it really worth buying? Do I really need this? Many of us got to a point where we pause and think hard before buying. Today, the most gadgets are using touch screen. Laptops are one of them. But before buying a touch screen laptop, you have to consider some pros and cons. Let me help you decide.

If you are new to computers, a touch screen laptop can be suitable for you. It is fast, direct and easy to navigate. Touching the display is easier than to use than a traditional track pad. This becomes more obvious when you try to drag a file into another folder using a track pad. You can also use other gestures like tap, swipe, long press and pinch so you can do more things with your computer.

If you're a designer, you may also find touch screens suitable for you. It will be easier for you to edit, drag, zoom and re-size images or windows. Using a touch screen laptop also allows a quick way to convert handwriting to a digital form. There will be instances when you may also find it more convenient to write actual words on the screen, with the use of a stylus or pen, than typing with a keyboard. However, of course, you can always switch to the traditional keyboard if you prefer. Playing interactive games will be so much fun for you and for the kids.

Touch screen laptops also have some disadvantages. They tend to be way costly than regular computers. Also, touch screen laptops would require regular cleaning of the screen as fingerprints may affect tapping the screen accurately.

It won’t be long till touch screen laptops become a common gadget. To sum it up, touch screen laptops bring ease of access, entertainment and convenience, outweighing some practical disadvantages they may have.
